New Trick

She can pull her toy! She's brilliant! :-)

Of course, she's been doing this for a few weeks now, but the novelty hasn't worn off for me. I get a little thrill every time she pulls on it - my brilliant baby! I know, I'm a dorky mom. But she's growing up so fast!

Deals to Meals

Here's a great blog I follow: Deals to Meals. They have awesome food storage, grocery deals and recipe info. Even if you don't live in Utah. Really.

I don't normally blog about others' blogs, but hey, there's the chance I can win a Bosch mixer! But it really is a cool site, and you should check it out if you've got a few minutes (um, hours?) to browse.

Laughing Baby!

Of course, once I ran to get the camera, she had clammed up a bit, but here she is, really laughing for the first time on film! I think she knows the blowing sound we make when we blow raspberries on her tummy or neck and that she likes what happens, so that's why she was laughing? Maybe?

(I hate how grainy and choppy this looks, but I never have enough time to fool around in Elements to find a better way to compress the video for upload. Ahh, someday.......)

Best Buddies

Savannah and her sister Ruby are MaraJade's best friends. And they're mommy is one of my best buddies. And - oh yeah - they're moving.

Of the 7 babies born within a couple of months of MaraJade, only 2 will remain in a month or so - everyone else has/will have moved away. And this last one will be hardest for Monster. I don't know what she'll do without her Banna.

Anyway, there's not point in being maudlin - it's a good move for the family and all that - plus, I just don't really want to talk about it. And I'm trying very hard not to project my personal feelings about it onto the Monster, so....

We'll take a look back at some of their recent fun times:

Playing at the Mall
At the Fairy Party
Hanging in the Park after Story Time at the library
Our Super Fun MAX Adventure Day!
We're really going to miss the Marsees.

Maceism of the Day - 5/12/10

Upon picking him up from school:

Mace: "The sun is made of salt." (Declarative - as always)
Me: "What? Um, why?"
Mace: "The sun is made of salt! That's why I sneeze so much when I'm out in it."

Really, who could not love this boy?

Mother's Day

Early morning church (of course), chocolates from the Bishopric, lots of fun at the Burrell Ranch in Boring, with tons of good food and crazy kids, then dinner at the Bocek Homestead. Good day to be a Mom.

"Hello, my name is Mace and I'll be your server today."
Monster and her 'cuz Olivia - some serious Tea-Partying
Yes, I think the headbands are adorable
Loves her Daddy
A rare shot of the Dude not being a Dork

Jog-a-thon 2010

And they're off!
Yes, we can still see you waaaay out there...
Go Mace Racer, Go!
It's that time of year again! Thankfully, it was nice weather and the kids had a blast. Of course the boys ran at opposite ends of the day, but hey - I don't do anything all day anyway, right? :-) I thought Mace might hate it - what with all the running - but he actually did 10 laps! I think Tristen did 7 his Kindy year. And the T-Man did 12, but his buddy once again bested him by 2 laps. Although nobody did more than Mr. Long, the principal, who ran multiple laps with each shift of classes.....all day long. Dude is dedicated. We love our school!
